Steven De Castro is a director, a teacher and cinematographer who is in post production on his film REVOLUTION SELFIE, which was admitted to the prestigious works-in-progress lab at DCTV in New York. He currently is releasing Fred Ho’s Last Year, his first feature film about an avante garde jazz composer and public intellectual dying of cancer. When he is not directing his own projects, De Castro works as a cinematographer for other directors in narrative and documentary features and shorts. Before he was a filmmaker, De Castro was a trial lawyer and served as Human Rights Commissioner of Jersey City.

FILMOLOGY First Annual 30-Day Film Challenge 2017
Founder
Co-Organized by the International Film Festival of Manhattan, FILMOLOGY 30-Day Film Challenge organized teams to write, plan, produce and deliver a short film in 30 Days. Showcase and award night was held at the Producers’ Club in Manhattan on October 19, 2017.
Asian American Film Lab 72 Hour Film Shootout 2015

Workshop: “Post Production Magic; Audio Capture and Audio Post”
Given in preparation for the 72 Hour Film Shootout, this workshop and demonstration gave important advice on field audio recording, and introduced the principles of sound design for both documentary and narrative film production and post-production.
